Norristown United FC's Travel soccer program offers young athletes a dynamic platform to elevate their skills, foster teamwork, and experience the thrill of competitive play. By participating in travel soccer, kids gain invaluable opportunities for personal growth and development both on and off the field. At Norristown United FC, we are committed to providing a positive and enriching experience for young athletes in travel soccer.

Players are expected to bring the following:
- Shin Guards
- Water or Drink
- Soccer Cleats
Before Tryouts
Online Registration: All players must complete the online registration form to register for tryouts.
Tryouts
Arrival Time: Arrive at the field at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Attendance: Each player must attend at least one of the two scheduled tryout sessions.
Effort: Put forth your best effort...that’s all we ask!
After Tryouts
After the final tryout, coaches and evaluators will meet to create team rosters.
Rosters will be submitted to the Director of Travel, the Travel Committee, and the Board of Directors for approval.
Head coaches will contact each player who tried out within one week of the final tryout to inform them of the results.
What Coaches Are Looking For
Players and parents often want to know what coaches look for during tryouts. Although it’s challenging to see everything a player has to offer in just a few sessions, our tryouts are designed to give all participants an opportunity to showcase their skills. Here’s what we evaluate:
Technical Ability
Skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, first touch, and defending.
Athletic Ability
Attributes like speed, quickness, agility, strength, and body control.
Awareness
Tactical skills including positioning, communication, and decision-making on and off the ball.
Attitude/Work Ethic
We look for players who have a positive attitude, take coaching points well, show good sportsmanship, and demonstrate a strong desire to improve.
